128-bit encryption (Secure Socket Layer)
Encryption is a way of scrambling sensitive data or information ready for transmitting across the internet. 128-bit SSL encryption is the encryption level assigned to the browser, and is one of the most secure levels available.
How can I tell whether my browser supports 128-bit encryption?
Using Internet Explorer 6.0 plus:
- click on 'Help: About Internet Explorer' from the menu bar of the browser. Cipher strength indicates encryption level
Netscape Navigator 7 plus
- click on 'Help: About Netscape' (half way down in bold)
how do I activate Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Version 3.0?
Using IE 6.0 or above:
- click on 'Tools'
- 'Internet Options'
- 'Advanced Tab'
- scroll down to Security and make sure SSL 3.0 is ticked and click 'OK'
for Netscape Navigator v 7 or above
- Select 'Tools' followed by Security Info
- click on Navigator and check 'Enable SSL' (Secure Sockets Layer) v3
- click on 'OK'
'page cannot be found' problems while making a booking?
Certain versions of Internet Explorer on Windows are known to have problems with loading the secure part of our booking site. Currently affected browsers include Internet Explorer 5.5 with 56-bit encryption.
To resolve this issue, either install a newer version of Internet Explorer using the links below or install any available updates from Windows Update (http://www.windowsupdate.com/).
Alternatively, you may follow the instructions below titled "how do I activate Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Version 3.0?" to disable SSL 3.0 support. Following this procedure, please ignore any warnings Internet Explorer may present you regarding the validity of the certificate - this is an issue with the version of Internet Explorer.

To use the Aerarann.com website you will need to enable cookies in your web browser. Below are some basic instructions to help you enable cookies in your browser, should you wish to do so.

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 I.E. 6 has two different places where cookie options can be adjusted, and both of these need to be set to 'accept cookies'. Open the Tools menu and select "Internet options". Both the Security Tab Options and the Privacy Tab options need to be set to accept cookies (the Privacy Tab is new to I.E. 6).
Security Tab : With the 'Internet Zone' selected, the Security Level for this zone should be set to a maximum setting of 'Medium'. (It can be less - but it provides less safeguards)
Privacy Tab : To change the settings for all websites: Go to the "Privacy"' tab. Click on the "'Advanced" button. Tick the "Override automatic cookie handling" box. Select the "Accept" option for both First-party and Third-party cookies and tick the "Always allow session cookies" box. Click "OK". Click "OK" again.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 On the menubar, click the Tools and select "Internet Options..." When the Internet Options screen opens, select the "Security" tab. Select "Custom Level". Scroll down to the Cookies section. Ensure that cookies are enabled to be stored and allowed on session level. Click the OK button to close the Security Settings screen and the OK to close the Internet Options screen and return to the browser.
Netscape 7 Open the Tools Menu, and choose "Cookie Manager". Choose 'Unblock cookies from this site'. For further information on Netscape 7's Cookie Manager, refer to the browser's help files.
